Fall 2015: “Yes Man: Stepping Up to What I Stand For”

How will the culture know what true Christ-followers are FOR? Most of the voices and images portrayed by the media are strident, oppositional, and reactionary. Real followers of Jesus say “Yes” more than they say “No.” They lean into the wind. They are proactive, creative, engaging and joyful. They are not searching for media coverage nor political victories. They are living from the center where God is present every day, and history is held in his hand.

Adverse circumstances, family dysfunction and political pressure did not define the character and influence of Joseph. He lived intentionally, resiliently and redemptively because he pursued a greater “yes.” Every man can learn from his proactive example. This world, and our immediate culture can again see what Christ followers are for, not just what we are against.
